The Deist Alliance (DA) consists of various Deist groups who have formed a friendly alliance with each other in order to open channels of communication, share information, resources and advice, and generally work together toward a higher goal of promoting Deism to the world.
Each of the groups represented in the DA have a unique focus towards presenting Deists concepts, but they realize that each member group is making a valuable contribution toward the modern Deist movement. We feel that by opening channels of communication between our groups, we can all help to make each group stronger and form a more unified front for Deism going into the 21st Century.
By it's very nature, the philosophy/theology of Deism expects people to use their reasoning in an effort to try to come to an understanding of God and our place and/or purpose in the universe. Since Deism has no dogma, this means that everyone is likely to come to a different conclusions, and will have different ideas about how best to experience and promote Deism in their lives. But rather than fight these differences and allow ourselves to devolve into incompatible factions, we feel that it is better and more beneficial to embrace the differences we have as much as possible. By valuing and embracing our differences, we can all learn and grow, and in the process show Deism for the multi-faceted diamond that it is.
The DA has no "leader". It is not about setting up some sort of controlling organization for Deists. The DA is simply a voluntary alliance of Deist groups. It's about keeping the lines of communication open between compatible Deist groups, with the hope of benefiting one another and promoting Deism in general.
So far the concept as worked very well. And the DA members are becoming friends, despite political, social, and Deistic views. The DA hopes to continue to work together to promote Deism and is open to others that might want to join.
